Methods on Teaching Grammatical Structures
1. Diagramming of Sentences
Diagramming sentences is one of the older styles of teaching grammatical structures. This method of teaching is especially useful for visual learners. However, this method disappeared from use for at least 30 years. Visualization methods used in its place include the dependency grammar and the Reed-Kellogg. However, these methods organize sentence functions in ways that illustrate the relationship between the words.
2. Learning from Writing
Most schools use this method, where learners explore the language through reading and creative writing and puck up on the correct use of grammar as they progress. In case specific problems about certain grammatical rules arise, these problems get tackled in a structured lesson. 3. Inductive Method

Contrasting structures seek students to contrast two or more grammatical structures with certain similarities. Through contrasting, learners get to have a deeper understanding of the different grammatical concepts and how to use them.

Teachers give students several sentences, some of which contain different grammatical mistakes. The teacher then asks the students to correct the grammatically wrong sentences or choose the correct sentence among them.

The use of tables is an effective teaching method since it involves an in-depth explanation of the grammatical concepts. An example of a table

The use of objects to demonstrate certain grammatical concepts is another effective method of teaching.
