This is not one thing but really some easy things you can do to ensure that your site loads load quickly, the homepage part is the most important part of your site because your visitors will most often access this section.

Things you can do include:

  • Show only quotes instead of full model posts
  • Reduce the number of posts on the front page (I like to show between 8-10 posts)
  • Remove unnecessary widgets on your website or blog
  • Remove inactive plugins and unnecessary widgets
  • Create a minimalist, because your visitors come for content, not to see widgets.

Overall, a clean and focused homepage design will help your page not only look good, but also load faster.

6. Optimize WordPress Database

I definitely get a lot of usage of the word “optimize” in this post! To do this you can use the WP-Optimize plugin. This plugin lets you perform just one simple task: optimizing your database (spam, post revision, drafts, tables, etc.) to reduce overhead on your wordpress database. 7. Disable Hotlinking And Leeching Your Content

Hotlinking is a form of “theft” of bandwidth. This happens when other sites link directly to images on your site from their articles making your server loads higher.

This can increase as more people “scrape” your posts or your site (and especially images) become more popular, as should be done if you create custom images for your site on a regular basis.

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http(s)?://(www\.)?premiuminfo.org [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http(s)?://(www\.)?google.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http(s)?://(www\.)?feeds2.feedburner.com/Premiuminfo [NC]
RewriteRule \.(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)$ – [NC,F,L]

You will see my feed (from FeedBurner), you must replace it with your feed name, otherwise your image will not display correctly.

An Expires header is a way to specify a considerable time loaded by the next visitor so that (the browser) visitors do not have to re-retrieve static content (such as css files, javascript, images etc.).

This way it can cut your load time significantly for users. Please copy and paste the following code in your htaccess root file:

ExpiresActive On
ExpiresByType image/gif A2592000
ExpiresByType image/png A2592000
ExpiresByType image/jpg A2592000
ExpiresByType image/jpeg A2592000

With the database optimization section, using the current cache plugin already includes this section, such as Wp-Rocket automatically adds Expires Header when the plugin is first activated.

9. Disable Pingbacks And Trackbacks

By default, WordPress interacts with other blogs that come with pingbacks and trackbacks.

Whenever other blogs associate your Website, it will tell your site, which in turn updates the data on the post. Shutting down this will not destroy backlinks to your site, only settings that generate a lot of work for your site.
